According to Fáilte Ireland research, almost 9 in 10 (87%) people want to ensure that the appropriate safety measures are in place if they are to consider taking a domestic break in Ireland this year.

Fáilte Ireland launched the COVID-19 Safety Charter to reassure consumers that the tourism and hospitality businesses that they visit have committed to adhere to the correct safety measures and hygiene protocols.

To be eligible to sign up to the COVID-19 Safety Charter, businesses must agree to the Terms and Conditions of the Charter, adhere to the relevant sector specific official guidelines for re-opening and ensure that all their employees undertake requisite COVID-19 safety and hygiene control training.

Businesses that sign up to the COVID-19 Safety Charter are entitled to display this Safety Charter symbol prominently within their premises and online platforms.

To put the COVID-19 Safety Charter and its safety symbol front of mind for the consumer Fáilte Ireland recently launched a national public awareness campaign for the initiative, which will run across TV, print and radio, and digital platforms.
